Karla Saldivar -- Preschool Director/ Teacher
Contact our Director
With a solid 14-year background in early education, coupled with 3 years in elementary education as a PE teacher and working with special needs, Karla's professional journey has been marked by diverse experiences. Her educational foundation includes a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, which has significantly influenced her inclination for innovative teaching methods. Currently, Karla is pursuing a master's degree in Education with a focus on Curriculum & Development in Trauma and Resilience. Karla is committed to fostering holistic growth and emotional well-being in her students.
Diving into the intricacies of early childhood development captivates Karla's intellectual curiosity. From coregulation and attachment to attunement, play-based learning, and neurodevelopment, Karla finds endless fascination in applying these subjects. Though Houston, Texas, raised her, Karla spread her wings and landed in Idaho in 2019. Alex, her husband, and their pint-sized explorer, Penelope, enjoy exploring the mountains and hidden treasures in Idaho.
Did you know? Karla had her own moment in the spotlight, but not as a singer – she was part of the action in one of the longest operas ever, Richard Wagner's Gotterdammerung, at the Houston Grand Opera! She took on the daring roles of a supernumerary and aerialist, twirling with fire and soaring through the air.
Lorrie Schwarz -- Preschool Aide
Lorrie, who serves as the teacher's assistant, has been a valued member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Eden for over 34 years. As a mother of two, she now delights in the role of grandmother, with a granddaughter already in her arms and a grandson eagerly anticipated to arrive this January.
Lorrie's heart has always been drawn to teaching and nurturing children. Observing the wonder that lights up their eyes when they embrace new knowledge is a source of endless joy for her. She finds immense satisfaction in fostering their innate love for learning and the excitement they exude while exploring new horizons.
Did you know? Lorrie and her husband embraced a six-year chapter of life in Saudi Arabia, where his focus was on helicopter work. Amidst this enriching experience, Lorrie found delight in connecting with individuals of diverse nationalities and visiting other countries close by!
Nette Miller -- Music & Movement and Occupational Therapist
Nette is excited to embark on her first year as a preschool teacher! With nearly 6 years of experience, she has been building obstacle courses and playing as a pediatric occupational therapist to assist little ones in fine and sensorimotor development. With a master's degree in occupational therapy and certifications in early childhood regulation, Nette is excited to apply her expertise into the role of music and motor skills instructor.
Off the clock, Nette takes on her proud parent role alongside her husband, wrangling two adorable kiddos aged 3.5 years and 9 months, Nette and family enjoying hiking to find the best fishing spot, being creative in the kitchen, and sitting by the firepit in the backyard.
Did you know? As a child, Nette's wild ambition was to tame and befriend alligators, but she gracefully shifted gears to caring for squirrels in need. Surprisingly enough, she once held the role of a counselor at Camp Perkins, earning the endearing nickname "Squirrel" – a testament to her dedicated nurturing of furry friends.
